We are seeking a qualified and committed Social Safeguard Specialist to join our team in Karachi. This role is critical in ensuring the project’s social impacts are effectively managed and align with national and international standards.
Responsibilities
As a Social Safeguard Specialist, you will:
- Develop and implement social safeguard policies in compliance with project guidelines and legal frameworks.
- Conduct social impact assessments and recommend mitigation measures.
- Ensure community engagement and address grievances through effective communication and resolution strategies.
- Monitor project activities to identify and manage potential social risks.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to social safeguard compliance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and non-governmental organizations, to ensure project success.
- Provide training and capacity-building sessions for project staff and community representatives on social safeguard policies.
Qualifications
To be eligible for this position, candidates should possess:
- Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or MS degree in Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in social safeguard policies, community engagement, or related areas (specific requirements to be discussed during the interview).
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with local languages and cultural contexts is a plus.
- Other Requirements: Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
