Responsibilities

As a Social Safeguard Specialist, you will:

• Develop and implement social safeguard policies in compliance with project guidelines and legal frameworks.
• Conduct social impact assessments and recommend mitigation measures.
• Ensure community engagement and address grievances through effective communication and resolution strategies.
• Monitor project activities to identify and manage potential social risks.
• Prepare reports and documentation related to social safeguard compliance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and non-governmental organizations, to ensure project success.
• Provide training and capacity-building sessions for project staff and community representatives on social safeguard policies.

Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, candidates should possess:

• Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or MS degree in Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
• Experience: Proven experience in social safeguard policies, community engagement, or related areas (specific requirements to be discussed during the interview).
• Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with local languages and cultural contexts is a plus.
