Job Introduction
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is seeking qualified and experienced professionals for various management positions based in Islamabad. These positions are temporary and provide an excellent opportunity to contribute to the disaster management and infrastructure development efforts in Pakistan. The roles include Manager Infrastructure, Manager Project Development, and Deputy Manager Infrastructure and Deputy Manager Project Development. Ideal candidates will have strong backgrounds in infrastructure development, project management, and disaster management strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manager Infrastructure:
- Oversee the planning, design, and execution of infrastructure projects related to disaster management.
- Ensure the development of resilient infrastructure to withstand natural and man-made disasters.
- Lead teams and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Prepare progress reports, budgets, and timelines for project execution.
- Manager Project Development:
- Manage the overall development of disaster management projects from conception to execution.
- Work closely with external and internal stakeholders to assess needs, define project goals, and ensure successful implementation.
- Develop project proposals, budgets, and work plans in collaboration with other departments.
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure project success.
- Deputy Manager Infrastructure and Deputy Manager Project Development:
- Support senior management in the implementation of infrastructure projects and disaster management strategies.
- Assist in coordinating activities between different teams and stakeholders.
- Track and report on project progress and assist with resolving issues.
- Provide technical support in the planning and execution of disaster management programs.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Disaster Management, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in Disaster Risk Management or Project Management will be an advantage.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in infrastructure development, disaster management, or project management (specific experience may vary by role).
- Manager-level positions require 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Deputy Manager positions require 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Expertise in project planning, execution, and monitoring.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Knowledge of disaster risk reduction strategies and frameworks.
