TAWAL is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Specialist for Government Relations & Regulatory Affairs. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining relationships with relevant Federal and provincial government offices and regulatory authorities, such as PTA, MOITT, and MOI. You will ensure smooth operations by ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and responding to government mandates. This is a mid-level role suited for individuals with expertise in navigating the regulatory landscape of the telecom sector.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with government offices and regulatory authorities at the Federal and provincial levels.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant government policies, regulations, and laws affecting the company, and communicate updates to internal teams.
- Represent the company’s interests at mid-level interactions with government officials and relevant stakeholders.
- Manage the application process for necessary permits and licenses, ensuring all requirements are met.
- Address and resolve any government-related issues, including disputes and regulatory compliance concerns.
- Collaborate with departments such as legal, rollout, and operations to resolve access and regulatory challenges.
- Provide timely updates to the Head of Government Relations & Regulatory Affairs on any developments in government regulatory offices.
- Act as the representative for the GRRA department when the lead or head is unavailable, both internally and externally.
- Collect and submit quarterly PTA Portal indicators data, strictly adhering to the regulator’s timelines.
- Follow up on all under-process applications or cases with PTA and other government bodies in Islamabad and provincial capitals.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Qualification: Graduation (Bachelor’s Degree or higher)
- Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience, preferably in the telecom sector.
- Skills & Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of the telecom sector and its regulatory environment.
- Strong experience in liaising with regulatory authorities.
- Ability to represent the company in government offices and manage key relationships.
- Familiarity with PTA rules, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage and follow up on the application process for permits and licenses.
