Responsibilities
Principal Data Engineer
- Lead data engineering teams and design scalable data architectures to meet organizational needs.
- Implement and optimize data pipelines, ensuring data availability, consistency, and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making processes.
- Develop strategies for data integration, including handling large datasets and diverse data sources.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data processing issues and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
- Ensure compliance with data governance standards and best practices in data engineering.
Data Architect
- Design, implement, and maintain data systems that support business objectives.
- Architect data solutions, including data storage, retrieval, and analysis systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Develop models for data architecture, including data warehousing, data lakes, and cloud data solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data needs and create data flow diagrams and documentation.
- Ensure data security protocols are in place and manage access control for sensitive data.
- Work closely with the Principal Data Engineer to ensure system interoperability and data integrity.
Qualifications
- Principal Data Engineer:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (BCS, MCS), Information Technology (BIT, MIT), or a related field.
- Experience in data engineering, with expertise in building scalable and efficient data pipelines.
- Proficiency in data management tools and technologies like SQL, Python, ETL processes, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.), and data warehousing solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
- Data Architect:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (BCS, MS, MCS, etc.).
- Experience in designing complex data architectures, including data lakes, cloud-based platforms, and data governance practices.
- Proficiency in data modeling, data integration, and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and big data technologies.
- Ability to design solutions that ensure data accessibility, security, and efficiency.
